Ultrasound Tech or Vascular Tech

Performs high quality Vascular and general Ultrasound examinations in accordance with approved techniques and protocols. To perform arterial and venous diagnostic procedures using high frequency sound waves on patients. To assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting the circulation. Supports Virtua Health Mission & Vision Statements and adheres to all Virtua policies and procedures and maintains a customer focus and promotes patient and employee satisfaction.
Position Responsibilities
Consistently performs high quality Vascular and general Ultrasound studies for our various patient populations according to protocols established by radiologists/designated specialist; this includes perinatal sonography to high risk maternity patients. Demonstrate ability to recognize and accurately document pathology identified in scans. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Ultrasound equipment. Performs a preliminary evaluation for each patient. Obtains pertinent medical history prior to exam; obtains previous examinations and reports. Reviews and verifies physician’s orders.
Responds to changes in the work schedule. Covers all shifts on a rotational basis and responds immediately on call when contacted by Communications and arrives within the appropriate time established by Virtua Health policy.
Demonstrates appropriate and effective use of RIS and hospital based computer programs and adheres to all policies and practices regarding confidentiality of all electronic communications
Prepares room as needed for biopsy exams; familiar with all equipment utilized for biopsy exam, assists and scans, as needed, during biopsy procedure. Assists in inter-operative biopsy procedures; responds to OR in timely manner.
Position Qualifications Required
Required Experience: Experience preferred in vascular imaging, abdominal, obstetrical and small parts.
Required Education: Formal education in Diagnostic Ultrasound Program (RDMS program graduate for MFM area).
Training / Certification / Licensure: Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) through one of the following: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Hourly Rate: $38.33 - $59.58
