Job Description

The Division of Vascular Surgery is seeking a full-time vascular surgeon to join the Division as an Assistant/Associate Professor in the University Medical Line (UML). We expect the successful candidate to have clinical activity, as well as research activity with an interest in basic/translational discovery or health services research and conduct teaching activities. The candidate is expected to have an emphasis on a trajectory towards obtaining extramural funding and career development as a surgeon-scientist. The candidate will be primarily based at Stanford Veteran’s Affairs campus in Palo Alto, CA.

Qualifications

Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Candidates should have an MD or MD/ PhD with board certification/ eligibility in Vascular Surgery. Demonstrated expertise in clinical and translational vascular research is expected, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary collaborations.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
