Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications to build an active pool of qualified candidates for Adjunct Faculty (temporary, part-time) positions. Adjunct instructors may teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or at one of the College's six county centers located in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick. Opportunities may include daytime or evening classes, online instruction, and dual credit courses offered at local high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis as teaching opportunities become available.
Responsibilities include providing high-quality didactic (lecture) and laboratory instruction, guiding students through noninvasive vascular scanning protocols, vascular anatomy, pathophysiology, and real-time data analysis. Responsibilities also include constructing, administering, and grading written and practical scanning examinations; evaluating student scanning techniques and preliminary reporting capabilities; instructing students on proper equipment optimization, transducer care, and strict adherence to safety standards; and assisting the Program Director in updating the vascular curriculum, course syllabi, and competency checklists to ensure continued alignment with JRC-CVT and CAAHEP guidelines.
Adjunct faculty are expected to serve as professional team members who support the mission and vision of the College while performing their duties with the highest level of quality and service.
Candidates must hold an active RVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI) credential. An associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or a closely related health science field from an accredited institution is required. A minimum of two (2) years of full-time clinical vascular scanning experience is also required.
