The Vascular Sonographer Float is a highly skilled professional who provides flexible and dependable vascular ultrasoundservicesacross 11clinic locations throughout Middle Tennesseefor our vascular surgeons.As a float team member, the Vascular Sonographer will rotate between multiple clinic locations based on staffing needs,maintaininga flexible schedule and the ability to adapt to varying workflows and environments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs a full range of non-invasive vascular ultrasound exams, including arterial, venous, carotid, and abdominal studies, following established protocols and diagnostic criteria to supportaccurateclinical diagnosis.
Reviews and evaluates all images for completeness and diagnostic quality before presenting them to the interpreting physician. Ensures that significant findings are clearly documented and promptly communicated when necessary.
Maintains ultrasound equipment in proper workingconditionand keeps work areas clean and organized.
Monitors supply inventory andnotifiesthe supervisor when items need to be replenished.
Accurately enters vascular exam information into the billing system daily, applying correct CPT and ICD-10 codes.Ensuresproper documentation to support insurance claims andtimelyreimbursement.
AssistswithmaintainingIAC vascular laboratory accreditation by contributing to quality assurance, documentation updates, and the preparation of required case logs and reports.
Ensurespatient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA. Adheres to OSHA standards for safety, infection control, and equipment use.
Communicates effectively with physicians, medical assistants, and office staff to support coordinated and efficient patient care.
Provides ultrasound coverage at clinic locations as assigned by the Vascular Lab Director, with flexibility for changes based on operational needs.
Usesthe electronic medical record (EMR) to document exam findings and retrieve relevant patient clinical history. Consults with referring providers to ensureappropriate examperformance.
Adjusts ultrasound system settings tooptimizeimage quality and diagnostic accuracy.Troubleshootstechnical issues during scans as needed.
Monitors report turnaround time andworkswith interpreting physicians to ensure exams are read andfinalizedpromptly, especially in time-sensitive cases.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge in vascular ultrasound by completing CMEs, reading relevant literature, and attending professional conferences.
Assistsin training and orientingnew staffmembers and students in lab protocols, equipment usage, and exam techniques.
Performsadditionalwork-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED isrequired
BLS isrequired
Willingness to travel and work at a different site on short notice as needed.
Successful completion of a formal 2–4-year vascular technology training program isrequiredCandidatemust be registry-eligible within 12 months.
Vascular-specific experience is preferred.
Must be responsible, self-motivated, and capable of working with limited supervision under guidelines set by the supervisor.
Must haveappropriatecredentialin vascular testing with active status. If not credentialed,mustbecome credentialed withinfirstsix months of employment

RVS- Registered Vascular Specialist by CCI

Self -administered medications, those taken by mouth or injected by the patient, comprise approximately 40% of these investigative medications. Tennessee Oncology’s in house pharmacy, Park Pharmacy, stocks oncology and hematology medications not readily available at community retail pharmacies. A URAC accredited Specialty Pharmacy, Park provides insurance and benefits investigation, prior authorization services for insurance coverage, co-pay assistance through manufacturer or foundation programs, extensive medication education, and access to a pharmacist 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
