Varsity Cheerleading Head Coach
2026-2027 School Year
of Position The High School Varsity Cheerleading Head Coach is responsible for leading, developing, and managing the school's cheer program, including both sideline cheer during the fall athletic season and competitive cheer during the winter season. This position provides leadership, instruction, and mentorship to student-athletes, promoting school spirit, teamwork, discipline, and personal growth both on and off the field. The coach works collaboratively with the Athletic Director to ensure program success, compliance with all governing rules, and alignment with district and MHSAA standards.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, a commitment to student development, and the ability to build a positive, respectful, and competitive team culture.
Compensation: The Varsity Cheerleading Head Coach will be paid in accordance with the CEA contract "Appendix B"
Qualifications:
Personal and professional reference background check.
*Beginning in 2016-17 school year, the MHSAA requires all 1st time head varsity coaches to complete a Coaches Advancement Program (CAP) class in order to be eligible to coach in any postseason events
