The Variable Compensation Analyst will support the administration and maintenance of associate variable compensation plans. This position works under the direction of senior team members to execute variable compensation processes, resolve routine issues, and assist in maintaining plans aligned with business goals. This position helps analyze data to support reporting and identifies straightforward opportunities for process improvement. This role handles confidential compensation data and applies professional discretion within established policies and procedures to support accurate compensation administration and mitigate financial, compliance, and employee-relations risk.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

Variable Compensation Administration - 70%

  • Executes sales commission and bonus compensation calculations under established plans, ensuring accuracy and timely payouts with senior team review.
  • Utilizes compensation tools and platforms, such as SQL database, to support plan execution and data tracking, including goal, performance, and incentive tracking for production associates, following established protocols and processes.
  • Facilitates cross-functional communication to gather and resolve compensation-related questions and feedback, engaging senior team members on complex or sensitive issues as needed
  • Supports the execution of sales compensation plans under senior guidance, including tracking and maintaining quotas, pay structures, and incentive data
  • Provides clear, accurate explanations of compensation plans and policies to internal customers, resolving routine inquiries independently and escalating complex matters appropriately
  • Partners with Payroll and Accounting on pay cycle and month-end processes, helping ensure pay cycle and month end obligations are fulfilled

Reporting, Analytics, and Compliance - 30%

  • Gathers and organizes data related to variable compensation plans under direction; assists in identifying trends and straightforward opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assists in monitoring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements for compensation programs, identifying and escalating potential compliance, data integrity, and payment risks to management
  • Responds to routine ad hoc information requests and compiles standard reports, ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of compensation-related information
  • Assists in preparing and distributing reports on variable compensation plan performance
  • Performs data and process quality checks under established procedures to support compensation accuracy and compliance; investigates and escalates discrepancies as appropriate

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE)

  • May work on special projects or other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS -- EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required
  • 3-5 years of related experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to adhere to and exhibit the Company Values at all times
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce or relative CRM systems
  • Working knowledge of document management systems

  • Good communication skills - both oral and written
