What will you do?

A day in the life of a Project Manager, Product Data at Vans looks a little like this.

As part of the Strategy team, this global role leads cross-functional transformation work across Merchandising, Development, Planning, and Operations, with a focus on product data, systems, and process improvement.

The role is responsible for driving initiatives from planning through execution, strengthening data accuracy and governance, supporting PLM tools and workflows, and helping teams adopt more scalable and efficient ways of working. This position brings increased ownership and influence across business enablement and operational execution, while partnering closely with the Senior Manager, Transformation to move key priorities forward.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Lead cross-functional transformation initiatives from planning through execution, helping teams align on future-state processes, system adoption, and more consistent ways of working.

  • Own product data accuracy across key lifecycle milestones, including validation, audits, cleanup work, and issue resolution that keep downstream processes running smoothly.

  • Manage global product data standards and governance, ensuring definitions, classifications, and updates are clear, consistent, and adopted across teams and regions.

  • Serve as a key owner of PLM systems and related tools, supporting configuration, seasonal readiness, user access, troubleshooting, and enhancements that improve usability and data quality.

  • Build reporting, training, and enablement tools that help teams track performance, improve adoption, and identify opportunities for automation, continuous improvement, and smarter decision-making.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 3-5 years of experience and professional achievements.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, supply chain, information systems, operations, or a related field

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects or transformation work from planning through execution, with the ability to keep teams aligned and work moving forward.

  • Strong understanding of product data, data governance, and data quality practices, with a sharp eye for accuracy, consistency, and detail.

  • Hands-on experience working in PLM or similar business systems, including supporting workflows, troubleshooting issues, and improving how teams use tools and processes.

  • Ability to translate complex processes into clear, scalable ways of working, with strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Confidence working across Merchandising, Development, Planning, and Operations, with strong communication skills and the ability to build alignment across functions and regions.

  • Experience analyzing data and building reports or dashboards that help teams measure performance, identify issues, and make informed decisions.

  • Ability to support training, change management, and user enablement so teams can adopt new systems, processes, and standards successfully.

  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with multiple priorities, using sound judgment to manage details, resolve issues, and keep deadlines on track.

There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.

  • Experience in the apparel, footwear, or consumer products industry, especially in product creation or Go-To-Market environments.

  • Experience with automation, AI-enabled solutions, or process improvement tools that reduce manual work and improve data quality.
