QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minnesota Class B Commercial Driver's License
• No more than three (3) moving violations within three (3) years
• Ability to obtain DOT Physical
The School Van Operator is responsible for the safe transportation of Saint Cloud School District 742 students while maintaining professionalism, safety, and positive student interactions during transportation services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Demonstrate ability to safely operate a school van owned and operated by District 742
• Demonstrate competency in each of the following areas as required by state law:
� Safely operate the type of school van assigned
� Understand student behavior, including issues relating to students with disabilities
� Encourage orderly student conduct and appropriately handle misconduct incidents
� Understand laws, rules of the road, and local school transportation safety policies
� Safely load and unload students
• Attend meetings with transportation staff, school administrators, and the public when necessary
• Complete student incident reports when applicable
• Maintain fuel and mileage log sheets, pre-trip forms, and other required documentation
• Verify route sheets for accuracy and provide recommendations to appropriate supervisors
• Clean the inside and outside of the van as needed
• Attend all required District safety and informational meetings
• Maintain current First Aid certification provided by the District
• Display the level of professionalism expected by District 742
• Other duties as assigned
