Job Description

Valve Technician (Assembly & Test):

• Responsible for working in compliance with mandatory Health & Safety requirements to minimize hazards and dangers present in an industrial workplace. Consistently demonstrates a knowledge of how to work safely by following the OHSA and company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Support the lean initiatives, goals and projects as directed by their supervisor.
• Complete the work of the picking, assembly, test, painting, flatting, and packaging of parts and valves to meet all safety and quality requirements and assembly schedules.
• Comply with company policies, safety rules and good housekeeping, taking appropriate actions when necessary.
• Perform assembly and test operations in accordance with written procedures and work instructions.
• Training and certification as a valve tester will be an advanced function for this position.
• Train and qualify as ASME B&PV Section IX welder.

• 2+ years of experience in either assembly or manufacturing environment
• Previous experience welding is strongly preferred
• Ability to read measuring equipment
  • 0”-6” calipers
  • 0”-1” micrometers
• Ability to read and follow:
  • blueprints
  • standard work instructions
• Ability to assemble small components with lightweight hand tools
• Ability to read job documentation and Engineering drawings
• Fast pace and high volume while on your feet throughout the day
• Lifting, pushing, pulling 50lbs
• High School or GED required
• Self-motivated, demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to work well in a team environment
