What you will do:

  • Receive and review assembly build-ups and work orders from Inside Sales for pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrically actuated assemblies
  • Review work orders and customer datasheets to ensure all required technical information is complete prior to assembly
  • Gather, verify, and confirm all components required for each assembly to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Perform all required pre-assembly tasks, including controls, control panels, and painting where applicable
  • Assemble valve and actuator packages according to customer specifications, installation instructions, and technical documentation
  • Ensure proper valve and actuator orientation:
    • For fail-closed assemblies, ensure the valve stem key slot is positioned 90 degrees to the valve bore when closed
    • For fail-open assemblies, ensure the valve stem key slot faces the valve bore when open
  • Adjust integral mechanical travel stops on actuators to ensure full open-to-close or close-to-open travel
  • Verify that the valve and actuator are in matching positions (open or closed) prior to completing final installation
  • Confirm correct fitment of stem adaptors to both the valve stem and actuator drive interface
  • Install valve mounting brackets, allowing for adjustment prior to final alignment
  • Install actuator-to-valve stem adaptors and ensure proper alignment with the actuator key slot
    • Apply low-temperature grease to stem couplers on both the valve and actuator sides
  • Mount actuators to valves, align mounting holes, rotate actuators as needed, and secure using the correct fasteners
  • Complete all required documentation, including final functional testing and inspection reports
  • Ensure all final assembly documentation is complete and included, such as function test reports, control documentation, Material Test Reports (MTRs), and Certificates of Conformance (COCs)
  • Ensure all assemblies and control components are properly tagged and identified

What you will bring:

  • Technical diploma, degree, or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Instrumentation, Automation, or a related field
  • Experience in application support, product specialization, or technical sales support within valve automation, pneumatics, or industrial equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of pneumatic actuators, valves, solenoid valves, limit switches, regulators, and related accessories
  • Ability to read and interpret customer specifications, datasheets, and order build-ups
  • Understanding of actuator mounting, valve orientation, fail positions, and functional testing concepts (hands-on experience is an asset but not required)
  • Strong customer communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and traceability
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, automation, and operations teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, order-driven industrial environment
