Manages and coordinates the human and material resources he/she is in charge of, for the compliance of the production programs in a timely manner with the of quality, quantity, and cost requirements that support the fulfillment of the company’s objectives and goals.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Follows directions from his/her general supervisor in order to meet production plans.
  • Supervises the filling out of documentation for product traceability (DHR)
  • Complies with internal work and health and safety regulations.
  • Ensures that finished product orders are captured in the SAP system.
  • Responsible for coordinating production activities and plans and meeting the objectives of his/her area within the plant.
  • Ensures compliance with production and quality standards (ISO 13485 QSR 820).
  • Supervises compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Ensures that the personnel he/she is in charge of are trained in the operation they are performing.
  • Ensures that all forms for his/her operation are filled out correctly.
  • Analyze production plans and estimates man-hour requirements to complete the assigned jobs.
  • Signs scrap reports and ensure that the correct amount of scrap is discarded.
  • Prepare daily reports to visualize the production plan’s progress.
  • Develop necessary work orders for the maintenance department to meet the specific needs of the production area he/she is in charge of.
  • Use Lean tools to identify process improvements he/she is in charge of.
  • Responsible for the coordination and accuracy of the inventories of his/her areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain the correct balancing of the production lines as defined by the Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Manages human resources, area and/or shift changes, promotions, discharges, disciplinary actions, vacation scheduling, and leave authorization.
  • Responsible for providing Human Resources with all the necessary information for the adequate and timely preparation of the pre-payroll of the personnel under his/her charge.
  • Conducts performance evaluations of his/her personnel.
  • Participates in the company’s activities as required (monthly inventory, annual physical inventory, training courses, Health and Safety commission).
  • Responsible for promoting the company's values by his/her example, training, and promotional programs and participating with the Human Resources Department in motivational programs.
  • Provides the Occupational Health and Safety department support in safety and ergonomics programs (training, preventive observation tours, leadership in first aid and evacuation brigade, among others).
  • This function may act as an Internal Auditor.

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related degree, or verifiable experience against resume (Preferable).
  • Intermediate English for Levels C and B, preferable.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

  • Proficiency in SAP and TRESS systems (preferred).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 13485.
  • The work site is located in Tecate, Baja California.
