The Value Stream Leader ensures compliance with the regulations, labor and technological discipline, as well as all standards in the Value Stream. Takes care of the right distribution of resources /people and machines to achieve high results in terms of time of delivery, quality and cost/efficiency. No productive working in line.

 Key accountabilities

  • Tracks and is responsible for the capacity in the area of responsibility.
  • Observes and controls deviations in the performance of responsible people and lines over a longer period of time.
  • Keeps track of the waste level such as rework and seeks to realize measures to reduce or eliminate it.
  • Recognizes the losses in the Value Stream and initiates activities to optimize the workflow of the production / logistic lines.
  • Responsible that all necessary resources (people, machine, material) are available on the lines.
  • Identifies, solves or escalates problems according to Shopfloor Management.
  • Drives analyzing KPIs in the Value Stream and coordinates suggestions for improvements with the Operation Unit Leader.
  • 8. Responsible for complying with established standards in terms of safety, tidiness and cleanliness in the area of responsibility.
  • Continuously improves the organization of the production / logistics lines in the Value Stream considering OPEX tools.
  • Drives the process of generating and implementing suggestions for improvements and encourages continuous improvement process suggestions according to focus topics.
  • Responds by removing deviations and taking measures to immediately restore the production / logistics process.
  • Daily participation in the PDCA routines of the Value Stream.
  • Frequent participation in the Shopfloor Management process of the Value Stream.
  • Exchanges information actively with all supporting functions.
  • Daily shopfloor routines with all production/logistics team leaders.
  • Inspires and motivates workers and direct reporting staff in the lines through leading by example as well as good management culture.
  • Ensures discipline compliance, performs a permanent check of the presence of workers and direct reporting staff.
  • Ensures compliance with rules and regulations in the responsible lines.
  • Approves absence of workers in cooperation with the team leader.
  • Conducts annual performance reviews with direct reports.
  • Assesses and plans training of responsible employees, develops, coaches and mentors direct reports.
  • Builds awareness and importance of quality/ costs/ delivery.
  • Supports production / logistic team leaders with worker incidents.
  • Nominates talents and conducts feedback dialogues with talents.
  • Conducts testimonials for workers by consulting the responsible team leader for performance feedback.

Knowledge and Experience 

  • Education: Higher technical or economics education or relevant level of professional experience
  • MS Office, SAP knowledge preferred. General computer proficiency.
  • Ability to use computer and word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • 3-4 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Good knowledge of OPEX production management methods (lean manufacturing).
  • Knowledge of Quality management and control.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good technical knowledge of the products produced in the Value Stream.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Leadership skills.
