Job Description

Lead pricing strategy and drive business development to secure patient access to Novo Nordisk innovations across Egypt. In this role you will combine strategic pricing leadership with hands‑on deal making to shape value-based access and partnerships.

Your new role

You will hold dual responsibilities across Pricing and Business Development, working closely with affiliate and regional teams to ensure our portfolio reaches patients while reflecting brand value. You will drive strategic pricing- lead list and net pricing strategy across the portfolio, support innovative pricing and contracting initiatives, build quantitative models to assess price impacts, and provide clear recommendations for business planning cycles.

Day‑to‑day you will:

  • Own pricing governance and compliance: chair the local pricing committee, ensure pricing documentation and systems are up to date, and apply healthcare compliance rules to pricing decisions.
  • Deliver value dossiers and tools: develop reimbursement dossiers, value propositions and health‑economic models to support negotiations with national authorities, payers and private purchasers.
  • Lead end‑to‑end business development: identify, evaluate and execute partnership opportunities — including alliances, licensing and acquisitions — managing processes from scouting, due diligence and negotiation through to contract execution and implementation.
  • Enable affiliates and cross‑functional teams: work with R&D, regulatory, marketing, portfolio management, legal, pricing and finance to align strategies, support Market Access negotiations, and operationalize deals across the cluster.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and reporting: cultivate partnerships with pharma, biotech and academic institutions, act as the primary contact for BD inquiries, and prepare periodic reports on BD & licensing activities for department leadership.
  • Represent Novo Nordisk in front of all local authorities (EDA, UPA, MOH, ..) for pricing related topics and negotiations and play as a focal point for tendering processes across the cluster and ensure that all related documents are ready.

Your new department

You will be part of the Corporate Affairs team, reporting to the Corporate Affairs Director. The team works across affiliate and regional functions to secure access to Novo Nordisk medicines, balancing scientific value with sustainable commercial models. You will collaborate with Market Access, Commercial, Legal and R&D colleagues to translate strategy into impact.

Your skills & qualifications

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry with 5+ years in business development/licensing and/or pricing roles.
  • Proven track record in Business Development and licensing within pharma or biotech in MENA, including deal execution and facilitating signatures.
  • Hands‑on experience building reimbursement dossiers, value propositions and health economic models.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and data analysis.
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and communication skills — able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Deep understanding of the Egyptian healthcare ecosystem and regulatory landscape (mandated).
  • Robust network across pharmaceutical companies and proven ability to influence cross‑functionally.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages an advantage.
