About this role
Carrier is seeking an engineering intern for the Should Cost team within the Engineering Operations’ Design to Value & Quality team. The candidate selected for this position will work within the team supporting Should Cost projects. The candidate will engage with the Should Cost team, Carrier’s business units & the WHQ Supply Chain organization to follow requests through the Should Cost process.
Key Responsibilities
Candidate must have a sound understanding of mechanical assemblies.
Execute and report on Should Cost projects assigned by the Should Cost team leader.
Work within the Should Cost workflow and request process.
Create and maintain the logistics of material movement throughout the Should Cost laboratory.
Perform product teardowns and document the overall process.
Utilize standardized Should Cost software tools, document reports, and present to leadership.
Required Qualifications
Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material Science, Manufacturing, or related fields.
3.0 or higher GPA
Applicant must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in design for manufacturing and assembly
Experience with CAD and CAE tools is a plus.
Strong team and interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
Ability to perform well working in teams, organize/lead teams, and mentor team members.
Strong organization and communication skills
Interest/experience in value engineering preferred.
