The Value Engineer drives cost optimisation and value across AJW’s global aviation supply chain by applying engineering insight, market intelligence, and data-led analysis to component decisions. This role sits at the core of how parts are repaired, sourced, and managed directly influencing cost, availability, and long-term asset performance.
Working across OEMs, MROs, and global suppliers, the Value Engineer plays a key role in challenging repair strategies, improving commercial outcomes, and shaping component lifecycle decisions supporting AJW’s mission to transform aviation efficiency through smarter, more effective operations.
Analyse repair, procurement, and inventory costs to identify value opportunities
Develop should-cost models using labour, material, process, and market inputs
Support decisions on repair, overhaul, scrap, exchange, or alternative sourcing
Challenge supplier pricing and support negotiations with data-backed insights
Assess impact of reliability trends, modifications, and repair scope changes
Work cross-functionally (procurement, repairs, technical, PBH) to optimise outcomes
Monitor cost performance, identifying trends, risks, and improvement areas
Provide clear recommendations balancing technical and commercial factors
Contribute to process improvement, automation, and better use of data
Experience in aviation, MRO, engineering, or technical procurement environments
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical and commercial data
Understanding of aircraft component repair processes and cost drivers
Ability to interpret technical documentation (e.g. findings, manuals, quotations)
Strong Excel or data analysis capability
Commercial awareness with focus on cost and value
Experience in cost modelling or value engineering
Knowledge of reliability concepts (e.g. MTBF/MTBUR)
Exposure to PBH contracts
Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Quantum, AMOS)
Continuous improvement or Lean experience
