A senior subject-matter expert to support sales, develop our offering and grow the business.

Are you a seasoned professional who turns complex delivery problems into won deals and shipped software? Do you bring deep experience in enterprise architecture and software delivery — and the conviction that AI now changes the economics of both? As a Value Architect at Nortal, you are a subject-matter expert first: you position us as the partner of choice, determine which investments yield the best return — measured in delivery speed, cost, quality and time-to-market — and bring the right human-and-AI team to deliver them. You can sit with business stakeholders in the morning, shape a value case by lunch, and review architecture with engineers by the afternoon.

At Nortal’s Emerging studio, we combine modern software engineering with agentic AI-driven development practices such as Spec-Driven Development and Agentic Swarm Coding. The goal is simple: build better software, faster—and rethink how software teams operate.

The offering you will work with and shape

In our core enterprise offering is human-led, AI-powered software delivery: faster builds, modernized legacy systems, quality built in rather than bolted on. You shape and sell it, and feed real engagements back into it. It rests on a few proven blocks:

• AI Legacy Archaeology — derive system logic, dependencies and workflows directly from code; full visibility before any change.
• AI-driven legacy modernization — redesign, migrate and rebuild poorly documented systems from an AI-derived current state, lowering risk and accelerating the move off legacy.
• Spec-Driven Development — machine-readable specs as the foundation for every build, with traceability from business requirements or legacy behaviour to modern software.
• Agentic swarm coding — parallel AI agents build, test and ship production-grade code; humans own architecture, review and acceptance.
• Nortal AI Kit — our proprietary delivery accelerator, built from real projects and applied to each customer's context.

An important commercial logic is land then expand: a fixed-scope wedge or pilot proves the approach, an embedded AI-first team scales it, and a long-term partnership expands it. The results are repeatable — across engagements this turns modernization from guesswork into evidence, compressing analysis from months into weeks or even days and running multiple times faster than traditional approaches, with quality and business continuity preserved.

What you will do

The role has two roughly equal sides.

Advise our clients and protect the value

• Be the trusted advisor. Work with senior client stakeholders (CIOs, CTOs, business and technology leaders) to connet their strategic priorities to AI-enabled business outcomes, and shape strategies and roadmaps they can act on.
• Own the architecture Influence architecture and design decisions so solutions scale and remain secure, governed, and compliant. You don’t need to build every component yourself, but you can steer an AI-first delivery approach and stand behind the architecture.
• Stay through delivery. Don't hand off after the sale — stay hands-on through delivery to protect the architecture, quality, and the value case from proposal to production.

Build the offering and win the work

• Support sales. Lead discovery and qualification (backlog size, delivery flow, handovers, AI adoption maturity, and readiness for AI-driven software development), handle the hard objections with evidence, and shape proposal, including the solution approach, the work estimate (often AI-augmented), and the customer value case. Always close on a concrete next step, whether a workshop, a discovery project, or full-scale delivery.
• Develop the offering. Turn engagements into reusable assets and named offerings, sharpen the land-then-expand packaging, and feed proof points and patterns back into the offering and the Nortal AI Kit.
• Help us grow Support growing the business, take ownership of selected offerings, mentor others, and help run AI-first delivery teams, so growth is never bound by one person’s bandwidth.

What we hope you bring

• A senior background in technology with business acumen (Software Architect, Principal Consultant, Solution Lead, or similar), with 10 or more years across both the customer and consulting sides.
• A track record of growing business and delivering on time, on budget and with measurable value.
• AI-first delivery and modernization Practical command of spec-driven development, agentic AI delivery and modern cloud and data platforms; you need not ship production code, but you can prototype a concept, read a pull request and shape an AI-first approach with credibility.
• Value-case construction An instinct for where AI removes cost rather than shifts it, and the ability to turn that into a case a CFO and a CTO both believe; commercial mindset, owning your pipeline.
• Communication. Strong spoken, written, and presentation skills in Finnish and English, with the ability to reach both technical teams and C-level stakeholders. German is an asset.

Salary range: 7000-9000€ / month (full-time). Final compensation will depend on factors such as relevant experience, role seniority, and skill set.
