PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To perform Sampling surveys in order to collect data for mining instructions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent is essential
- COM Elementary Valuation Certificate is essential
- 1-2 years' experience as a Valuation Assistant is essential
- A valid medical certificate or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
The successful candidate is responsible for:
- Gathers information pertaining to the Observation/Sampling requirements.
- Obtains the Miners permission to enter the workplace and notifies all personnel at workplace of Observation/Sampling activities.
- Determines the precise location of Observation/Sampling area.
- Washes the face and identifies the reef type.
- Marks off and maps face sampling sections for mineral evaluation purposes.
- Records rock type and ticket no's on the Development Card.
- Collects special samples for mineral evaluation purposes
- Provides Mining with grade information and makes recommendations on Grade Control.
- Informs Production Teams and Shaft Management of significant deviations from the required standards
