Join us as a Valuations Specialist Lead

  • If you can demonstrate extensive experience of managing High Value Residential Valuations, business portfolio strategies and excellent stakeholder management skills, we’d like to hear from you
  • As the Valuation Specialist Lead, you'll be responsible for overseeing and assuring the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of property valuations for high value and bespoke valuations produced for the Coutts & Co Private Bank
  • You'll ensure that valuation reports meet regulatory standards, internal policies, and reflect true market conditions, whilst also providing expert insight into business, supporting client conversations where appropriate and leading on policy and guidance changes related to valuation process
  • You'll work from home some of the time, but you'll also spend at least one day a week working from the 440 Strand office

What you’ll do

As a Valuations Specialist, you’ll be working with your team on sector management activities and our business portfolio. You’ll oversee all aspects of portfolio and valuation management activities and screen large transactions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with NatWest’s standards and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) guidelines. We’ll also look to you to guide your team on different workstreams and provide them with training to improve their valuation management skills.

You’ll also be:

  • Managing the Residential Valuation strategy for Coutts & Co, working with the head of the business as well as executives
  • Building relationships with senior stakeholders and joining in regular meetings to discuss portfolio dynamics and strategies; monitor internal trends and market data to identify emerging risks impacting property values and mortgage portfolio performance
  • Working with executive committees, business heads and function partners on strategy and risk appetite, as well as with coverage teams, to increase understanding of overall portfolio dynamics for Residential Valuations

The skills you’ll need

We’re looking for someone who has excellent industry experience, with a strong knowledge of the UK residential property market, valuation methodologies, and regulatory frameworks impacting property valuations with experience of working with UK Prime and Superprime £10 million plus properties. You’ll be able to communicate with senior stakeholders on a regular basis and use portfolio and sector management tools in line with your strategy. Professional qualifications such as MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), or an equivalent qualification would be highly desirable.

You’ll also need:

  • To be able to represent the function at board and management levels
  • Experience of working in a team that concentrates on relationship management and portfolio activities
  • Knowledge of risk management, legal policies, and regulatory and statutory obligations
  • Experience working with mortgage valuation processes and managing third-party valuation providers
  • A strong understanding of valuation standards, including the RICS Red Book and FCA requirements
  • Extensive experience in property valuation, valuation assurance, or related roles within financial services, mortgage lending, or property sectors
