Job Description

Rodefer Moss Transaction Advisors is seeking a Valuation Specialist with 7-10+ years of experience in business valuation, financial analysis, litigation support, and transaction-related advisory services. This individual will play a key role in serving clients on complex valuation engagements, supporting transaction advisory projects, and leveraging their established professional network to generate new business opportunities throughout the region.

Requirements

Business Development

• Leverage and expand your existing network of attorneys, bankers, wealth advisors, business owners, and referral sources.
• Identify opportunities for valuation, litigation support, and transaction advisory services.
• Represent RMTA at networking events, industry associations, and client meetings.
• Work together with RMTA professionals to strengthen client relationships and support strategic growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with attorneys, trust officers, and financial advisors on estate planning and wealth transfer engagements.

Valuation Analysis Duties

• Perform valuations of closely held businesses, family limited partnerships, and other assets for estate and gift tax purposes.
• Assist high-net-worth individuals, family offices, attorneys, and wealth advisors with succession, gifting, and estate planning strategies.
• Analyze discounts for lack of marketability, minority interests, and other valuation considerations commonly associated with estate and gift tax engagements.
• Prepare valuation reports and supporting documentation designed to withstand IRS scrutiny.
• Collaborate with attorneys, trust officers, and financial advisors on estate planning and wealth transfer engagements.
• Provide support for estate and gift tax examinations, audits, and valuation-related inquiries.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting litigation and expert witness engagements.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions, transaction advisory, or quality of earnings engagements.
• Existing relationships with attorneys, bankers, wealth advisors, and privately held business owners in Tennessee and surrounding markets.
• Experience performing valuations for estate and gift tax reporting, wealth transfer planning, and succession planning.
• Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining referral relationships.
