Job summary

As a Vice President, Valuation Control within the Valuation Control team, you will help ensure financial instruments are valued appropriately through independent price verification and control processes. You will calculate and explain valuation adjustments, support management reporting, and help deliver consistent, well-documented controls. You will work with partners across Finance, Risk, Product, and Technology to resolve valuation topics and continuously improve how we operate. You will be part of a collaborative team that values accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Job responsibilities

  • Execute independent price verification and benchmarking processes, including calculation and explanation of valuation adjustments
  • Support established valuation control practices and initiatives, including management reporting and control consistency
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Product, and Technology to investigate valuation matters and drive resolution
  • Enhance the control framework by reviewing pricing methodologies, assessing coverage opportunities, and implementing improvements
  • Identify process gaps, propose solutions, and help implement tools to improve efficiency and strengthen governance
  • Produce clear documentation and reporting that supports internal governance, audit readiness, and regulatory expectations
  • Contribute to projects spanning Business, Risk, and Finance priorities, including process redesign and automation
  • Communicate insights and findings in a clear, concise way to a range of audiences, including senior stakeholders

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 7 years of related experience in valuation, product control, risk, finance, or a similar analytical control function
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience with energy markets (for example, oil, gas, power, refined products, or renewables) and related pricing dynamics
  • Experience with energy-related derivatives and/or structured products (for example, options, swaps, forwards)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to explain outcomes and drivers clearly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings with clear “what/why/so what”
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and stakeholder-ready materials
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail
  • Strong control mindset, including comfort operating in a documented and reviewable environment

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • Experience with independent price verification, valuation governance, or valuation control frameworks
  • Experience improving processes through automation or tooling (for example, Visual Basic for Applications)
  • Exposure to databases and data tools used for controls, reporting, or analytics
  • Experience working with audit partners and/or responding to regulatory or governance-related requests
  • Familiarity with a broad range of asset classes and pricing sources
