Job Description

About Us

Polaroid was founded in 1937 by one of the most seminal innovators of the 20th century, Edwin

Land. His motto was, “don't undertake a project unless it is manifestly important and nearly

impossible.” In 2008, Polaroid shuttered its last factory, but a group of diehard fans came

together as The Impossible Project to save instant film. Over 10 years later that startup acquired

what was left of Polaroid and today weʼre again a small group of people passionate about

changing the world through great products.

At Polaroid, we are evolving validation from execution-driven to architecture-driven. We are

looking for a Validation Architecture Engineer with strong hands-on testing fundamentals and

the ability (or strong willingness) to grow into a test architecture role.

This role combines validation execution with test case development and early-stage validation

thinking. You will work closely with R&D teams to identify NUDD (New, Unique, Difficult,

Different) risks and define validation approaches, while also leveraging modern tools (including

AI-assisted tools) to accelerate test development.

You will play a critical role in ensuring that all NUDD risks are identified, testable, and validated

before products enter mass production.

Key Responsibilities

Validation Strategy & Early Engagement

  • Collaborate with R&D during early product development to understand system design and identify NUDD (New, Unique, Difficult, Different) risks

  • Support development of validation approaches and test coverage

Test Case Development (Core Focus)

  • Develop test cases, procedures, and validation methods based on product requirements

  • Leverage AI tools or modern engineering tools to accelerate test case creation and documentation

  • Continuously improve and refine test cases across projects

Hands-on Validation Execution

  • Execute in-house validation tests, especially for critical or NUDD-related scenarios

  • Analyze test results and support issue investigation

Validation Readiness & Milestones

  • Ensure NUDD-related test coverage is identified and structured during early product development stages

  • Target to have majority of test cases defined and ready before tooling readiness / early validation build phase

  • Support completion of remaining test cases prior to DVT (Design Validation Test) phase

  • Contribute to validation readiness and execution planning across development milestones

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing, and external partners

  • Support alignment on validation coverage and execution

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelorʼs degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field)

  • 3–6 years of experience in validation, testing, or related engineering roles

  • Strong hands-on testing experience (mechanical, electrical, or system-level)

  • Basic understanding of validation methodology and test planning

  • Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn

  • Good communication and collaboration skills

Preferred

  • Experience in scripting or coding (e.g., Python) or strong willingness to learn

  • Interest in test automation, data analysis, or tooling development

  • Experience using engineering tools or AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency

  • Experience in consumer electronics or imaging-related products

  • Understanding of product development lifecycle (NPI / DVT / PVT)
