The Validation Technician is responsible for supporting automotive validation activities through test setup, execution, monitoring, and documentation.
This role requires hands-on experience with environmental chambers, test fixtures, sample handling, and validation processes. The technician must be able to work autonomously and ensure all testing activities are properly executed, documented, and reported.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform lab sample visual inspections, take pictures, and apply labeling.
Create and maintain status sheets with tester, sample, chamber, and task information.
Transport samples and test equipment to external labs when applicable.
Take setup pictures and upload documentation to shared drives.
Execute validation and environmental tests according to requirements.
Copy and store test data from test benches to shared drives.
Perform setup teardown activities after testing completion.
Move test benches and equipment back to their original locations.
Store tested samples in designated Iron Mountain storage boxes.
Qualification/Requirement:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Automotive Supplier or OEM environment.
Understanding of how to program an environmental chamber.
Ability to read and interpret test profiles to create chamber profiles.
Basic understanding of calibration concepts, including due dates and associated equipment data.
Basic knowledge of units of measurement for speed and load.
Ability to read and understand drawings for dimensional testing.
Moderate to advanced communication skills for reporting testing issues via email and chat.
Authorization to legally work in the US.
Experience/Education:
Experience working inside supplier manufacturing facilities strongly preferred
Strong attention to detail.
Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
Good organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to follow testing procedures accurately.
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
Safe handling of test samples and laboratory equipment.
Environmental Requirements:
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment, and supplies up to fifty pounds
Must be able to work in an active manufacturing and production environment
Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
