About the Company

We are recruiting for an established, family-run commercial vehicle business with a busy workshop operation. You will join an approachable team with experienced technical colleagues, manufacturer training and opportunities to develop your career.

The Role

We are looking for a skilled Diagnostic & Repair Technician to join an established light commercial vehicle workshop at Heathrow / Feltham. If you enjoy tracing faults, carrying out major mechanical repairs and seeing a difficult job through to a reliable repair, we would like to hear from you. You will have access to manufacturer training and opportunities to develop your technical accreditation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and repair complex faults across commercial vehicles, using scan tools, test equipment and technical literature
  • Carry out turbocharger, gearbox, engine and fuel-system repairs, including major component replacement
  • Perform servicing, scheduled maintenance, mechanical repair and post-repair checks
  • Document technical findings, parts and work completed clearly and collaborate with service and workshop teams
  • Take part in manufacturer-led training and pursue enhanced technical accreditation

Skills and Experience Required

  • Several years' experience diagnosing and repairing light commercial vehicles
  • Level 3 qualification desirable; five or more years' proven time-served experience accepted for consideration
  • Manufacturer diagnostic accreditation advantageous but not essential
  • Confident with electrical, electronic and mechanical fault-finding and advanced strip-and-repair work
  • Practical, adaptable, accurate and safety-focused with strong team communication

Candidate Profile

You enjoy hands-on fault finding and major component repairs. You are adaptable, careful with technical records and keen to develop your manufacturer knowledge and diagnostic accreditation.

Salary, Bonus and Full Package

We offer:

  • Basic salary of £41,000 per annum
  • Potential OTE of £49,161, based on approximately four overtime hours per week plus the Saturday rota, with uncapped additional earning potential
  • Saturday rota paid at time and a half
  • Weekday and weekend overtime opportunities
  • A further £2,000 per annum for a relevant EV qualification, subject to proof of qualification

OTE depends on overtime worked and rota participation.

  • 40 basic hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Saturday morning rota: one in three mornings

We provide a comprehensive benefits package:

  • 30 days' annual leave including bank holidays
