Job Description
Purpose
Reporting to the Team Lead, Sales, this role sells Rocky Mountaineer experiences to travel trade partners and guests, creating life-changing moments through every interaction. The Vacation Consultant manages inbound and outbound sales opportunities, guiding guests through the sales cycle, maximizing revenue, and delivering a high standard of service. Each interaction is treated as both a sales opportunity and a meaningful guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Process Execution
- Promote and sell Rocky Mountaineer vacation experiences, exceeding guest and partner expectations while optimizing revenue
- Handle incoming and outbound calls with professionalism, tailoring recommendations to guest needs
- Apply the defined sales process to drive conversion and upsell opportunities
- Continuously improve personal sales performance, demonstrating initiative, resilience, and accountability for results
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with travel partners and guests, creating positive and lasting impressions
- Collaborate with Business Development and internal teams to support shared sales goals
- Communicate clearly and adapt approach to suit different audiences, fostering trust and alignment
Service and Booking
- Provide accurate, up-to-date product, policy, and booking information
- Manage follow-ups and process bookings accurately in compliance with company standards
- Take ownership of issues and resolve them proactively to ensure a positive outcome
- Identify opportunities to enhance service and streamline processes
- Assist with projects as assigned by the Team Lead, Sales or Manager, Reservations.
Qualifications:
Education / Certification / Licenses
- High school education of equivalent experience required
- Travel insurance certification required within six months
Experience
- 2 years’ experience in a sales or guest service environment with the ability to build immediate rapport
- Previous experience in tourism/hospitality industry, call center, and/or sales environment an asset
- Experience with service recovery and problem solving

- Organized with strong time management and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

- Positive, professional, and guest-focused approach, with attention to detail
- Proficiency with standard business tools and reservation systems; additional languages an asset
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced sales centre environment with a hybrid work model (3 days in office, Greater Vancouver area)
- Regularly required to sit or stand at a desk, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone, and communicate clearly
- Specific vision abilities required due to computer-based work
- Shift work consisting of scheduled hours with potential for rotating schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime
- Participate in ongoing training related to new and changing products, often delivered remotely
- Manage high call volumes in a queue environment while multitasking across systems to access and provide accurate information
Compensation:
The base salary offered for this role is $50,000.00 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity. Eligible for Armstrong Collective's dicretionary bonus program.
