Market Portfolio Manager – Marine & Critical infrastructure

The Job

Septentrio is a leader in high-precision GNSS positioning technology, providing advanced receivers and positioning solutions that enable reliable and accurate navigation, automation and geospatial applications worldwide.

As a Market Portfolio Manager, you will drive the growth of Septentrio's business in marine and critical infrastructure markets, with an initial focus on marine, dredging, rail and logistics. Timing, reference networks and scientific infrastructure are adjacent markets. You play a central role between the market and Septentrio sales, product management and marketing.

You will develop market and customer insights, identify and validate growth opportunities, and translate them into market and portfolio strategies.

Working closely with OEMs, solution providers, customers and technical experts, you will help ensure a relevant, competitive and differentiated portfolio. The role has a mid- to long-term perspective, typically two to five years.

Your Mission

Market Intelligence & Opportunity Development

• Develop a deep understanding of assigned markets, customer activities, value chains, competitive dynamics and emerging technologies.
• Build relationships with key OEMs, solution providers, technology partners, industry associations and customers to identify and validate new applications and growth opportunities.
• Develop business cases and market models to assess customer demand, market timing, competitive positioning and the potential of new opportunities.

Market & Portfolio Strategy

• Define and maintain the global market vision and strategy for assigned markets, including positioning, differentiation and long-term value proposition.
• Identify portfolio priorities, attractive applications, growth opportunities and investment needs.
• Represent the market perspective in Product Management, R&D, Marketing and Sales discussions.

Sales Engagement & Market Enablement

• Support Sales with market insights, competitive intelligence, positioning and customer knowledge.
• Identify strategic accounts and opportunities that can validate or accelerate the market strategy.
• Support the transition from market development to active selling and ensure a smooth handover to Sales when opportunities become commercially mature.

Your Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or a related field.
• Proven B2B experience in one or more relevant markets.
• Experience working with technically complex products or solutions and translating technology capabilities into customer and business value.
• Experience working with equipment manufacturers, solution providers and technology partners, and understanding their product and portfolio decision-making processes.
• Experience in GNSS, marine navigation, hydrography, autonomous systems, positioning technologies, industrial electronics or related markets is a strong advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market trends, customer behaviour, competitive dynamics and commercial data.
• Ability to translate fragmented market information into structured strategies, priorities and recommendations.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both commercial and technical audiences.
• Comfortable working with exploratory opportunities with longer and less certain development paths.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a regular basis, approximately 20–30% of the time.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in additional European languages is an asset.
