As the Task Order (TO) Project Manager for the Center for Care and Payment Innovation (CCPI) Strategic Planning Division (SPD) support contract, you will serve as the primary interface with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and lead all aspects of program and project management support for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Operating within VA's federal healthcare environment under the Strategic Planning Division's innovation engine within Planning, Innovation & Modernization (PIM), you will oversee the planning, execution, tracking, and reporting of task order deliverables to ensure mission-aligned outcomes that directly support Veterans' care and benefits programs of data-driven and value-based health care solutions that transform and improve Veteran care while reducing cost and administrative burden. The ideal candidate is a disciplined, results-oriented project management professional who thrives in complex federal healthcare environments, communicates with clarity at the executive level, and proactively manages risk, schedules, and stakeholder relationships with minimal direction.
Serve as the single, authoritative point of contact for all COR communications, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional responses to Government inquiries, direction, and feedback throughout the life of the task order. Develop, maintain, and report on comprehensive project management artifacts including project plans, integrated master schedules (IMS), risk registers, and status reports in compliance with VA and federal contracting standards. Produce and deliver executive-level program management deliverables, including briefings, dashboards, monthly status reports, and milestone reviews, tailored for senior VA leadership and Government stakeholders. Lead internal team coordination and cross-functional collaboration to ensure all task order workstreams remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned to contract performance requirements and PWS objectives. Identify, assess, and manage program risks and issues; develop mitigation strategies and escalate critical items to the COR and company leadership in a timely and structured manner. Report to the VA Central Office at 810 Vermont Ave NW, Washington, DC upon Government request, supporting on-site meetings, reviews, and engagements without charging travel expenses to the Government.
Minimum of 4 years of federal healthcare program and/or project management experience, with a demonstrated track record of managing multi-workstream task orders or contracts within a federal agency environment. Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution required; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through PMI is required and must be active and in good standing at time of hire. Demonstrated experience supporting or working directly with federal healthcare agencies (e.g., VA, DoD/DoW, HHS, CMS), including familiarity with federal contracting vehicles, COR relationships, and Government program oversight processes. Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential and satisfy all applicable VA background investigation and suitability requirements prior to performing work. Must be authorized to work in the United States; this position does not offer visa sponsorship. Must reside within reasonable commuting distance of VA Central Office at 810 Vermont Ave NW, Washington, DC and be available to report on-site at the Government's request without travel reimbursement from the Government.
