Job Description

At Balanced Body, we believe that movement changes lives. For nearly 50 years, we’ve been the global leader in Pilates equipment and education, blending mindful movement with world-class engineering. From our solar-powered headquarters in Sacramento, we manufacture premium equipment that empowers people to feel better and move more freely.

We are looking for a creative and technical UX/UI Developer to join our team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end user experience, from wireframing and prototyping to the final build-out on our web platforms. The ideal candidate is a visual storyteller who understands the "why" behind user behavior and has the technical chops to bring those designs to life in WordPress and Shopify.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Prototyping: Create high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes that prioritize user flow and brand aesthetics
  • Platform Management: Build, customize, and maintain responsive web pages within WordPress and Shopify.
  • UX Strategy: Execute user journey mapping, site mapping, and information architecture to ensure a seamless digital experience.
  • Visual Asset Creation: Design high-quality digital assets, including banners, icons, and layout graphics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional, beautiful web interfaces.

Requirements

Core Requirements

  • Figma Master: Expert-level proficiency in Figma for designing layouts, components, and design systems.
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Strong skills in Photoshop and Illustrator for advanced image editing and vector creation.
  • CMS Expertise: Proven experience building and managing sites within WordPress (Gutenberg/Elementor/Divi) and Shopify (Liquid-based themes and app integrations).
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating a clean aesthetic and a clear understanding of UX principles.
  • Front-End Development: Proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3 to customize themes beyond the standard "out-of-the-box" settings.
  • SEO/Performance: Understanding of how design choices impact page load speeds and search engine rankings.
  • Platform Versatility: Familiarity with various mapping and whiteboarding tools (Miro, Lucidchart, etc.).

Why This Role?

You won't just be pushing pixels; you’ll be owning the final product. This role is perfect for a designer who loves to see their work live and functioning on the web, rather than just handed off in a static file.
