Job Description

We're looking for a Freelance UX/UI Designer who can hit the ground running. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of web design best practices and is well versed in creating DTC e-commerce experiences. At UN/COMMON, you’ll collaborate with strategists, senior designers, and developers to create thoughtful, conversion-driven digital experiences for emerging and established consumer brands. You’ll translate business goals and customer insights into best-in-class user experiences that drives conversion.

What will I be doing?

  • Translate creative briefs into functional design concepts with feedback and direction from ecomm strategists and senior designers.
  • Build, expand, and maintain comprehensive Figma design systems and component libraries.
  • Create high-fidleity prototypes and motion explorations to bring concepts to life
  • Prepare clean, developer-ready files and documentation to support seamless handoff
  • Accurately scope tasks and complete assignments on-time and within budget
  • Clearly articulate design decisions to internal teams and clients, grounding your rationale in user and business goals

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience of UX/UI design, preferably in-house at DTC brands and/or agencies.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining design systems within Figma
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present work confidently and explain the strategic “why” behind design decisions
  • Comfortable working in a remote, asynchronous environment with structured check-ins and mentorship to support your workflow.
