Job Description

User Experience Researcher would be responsible for performing Qualitative & Quantitative UX Research. They ensure that experiences meet user needs in an engaging way through discovery and validation research via a variety of methodologies. They will be responsible for partnering with designers, product owners, content and UX strategists to balance user, stakeholder, business and technology needs.

Responsibilities

  • Listen in for potential research needs in your programs, define, plan, and execute research studies. Should be able to assess and conduct both qualitative and quantitative research methods to provide the best fit for a variety of project types and phases.
  • Collaborate with fellow UX Researchers, Designers, Business Architects, Data Analytics Teams, Product Owners and more importantly leaders to identify opportunities that will benefit from user centered design approach or UX offerings.
  • Contribute to designs initiatives by independently conducting Qualitative or Quantitative UX Research - analysing behaviours and desires to enhance our product experience.
  • Use analysis to inform new strategies to improve UX, by focussing on measurable results (KBMs/KPIs/numerical data), converting research findings into Design and Information Architecture recommendations.
  • Facilitate working sessions/exercises/engagements for key decision-makers and cross-functional teams to solve problems using Design Thinking and more.
  •  Study raw research data/insights/raw findings, reporting findings through written reports and presentations to help draw conclusions to drive informed decision making, and track the impacts it has on our products in a continued manner/ongoing basis.
  • Work with UX designers, engineering teams, and product managers to ensure research findings are fully leveraged in the product design and development life cycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • 5 to 7 years of broad experience of conducting hands on UX Research - Qualitative & Quantitative, including Design Feedback, Concept Validation, Generative Research, Usability studies, Interviews, Contextual Inquiries, Surveys, Card Sorts etc. in Agile framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and apply AI in UX Research, including the use of AI for innovative study design, automated secondary analysis, and enhanced survey creation. Capable of integrating AI to streamline research processes and uncover deeper insights across multiple methodologies.
  • Able to explain the rationale behind analysis methods/technique employed to help arrive at decisions within a larger context.
  •  Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of focussing on the mission and goals of design and research, with the ability to communicate this to product teams.
  •  Able to work effectively in a fast-moving environment, juggle multiple projects, and prioritize work.
  •  Stay current on research trends and tools.

Practices

  • Manage all steps of research studies, interviews and online research such as Usability studies, Surveys, Click tests, tree tests, card sorts, A/B Tests, Moderated/Unmoderated Usability Testing etc.
  • Intake the needs of stakeholders and formulate research plans that will answer the questions needing to be answered, including determining research methods, measuring, and defining (behavioral and attitudinal) KPIs.
  • Plan, project manage (timeline, estimates), facilitate, run, report and communicate research results to audiences at various levels within the organization
  • Familiarity with conducting research early in the process and collaborate to define solutions that help users effectively complete their tasks on various digital solutions on desktop and mobile devices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven Storytelling abilities.
  • Ability to interpret product requirements documents from a user-centered perspective.
  • Fundamental understanding of project management and business process management concepts.
  • Experience working with survey and user research tools such as Marvin, Adobe Analytics, Glassbox, Qualtrics and Optimal Workshop
  • Working knowledge of design and user experience fundamentals such as visual design, accessibility and design systems.
