Amazon is building an innovative product personalisation platform that enables customers to discover and select perfectly matched products through AI-powered recommendations, real-time compatibility verification, and intuitive interfaces. This platform serves customers seeking personalized technology solutions requiring compatibility verification and technical expertise across Amazon's marketplace.
The designer will own experiences across distinct modules — Customer UX (discovery, compatibility verification, and checkout flows), Selling Partner UX (inventory management, promotion optimization, and collaborative planning tools) — each maintaining consistency with Amazon's internal design systems while ensuring high standards of usability and accessibility (A11y).

Key job responsibilities
- Design intuitive product personalization flows integrated into Amazon's marketplace, including multiple personalisation entry points (search, detail pages, navigation, checkout)
- Create progressive disclosure patterns that manage technical complexity for both novice and expert users
- Design real-time compatibility verification experiences with clear, non-technical explanations
- Develop smart filtering systems that dynamically adjust based on user selections
- Design budget optimization interfaces with transparent cost breakdowns
- Create inventory management, promotion optimization, and collaborative planning tools for vendors and retail teams
- Deliver high-fidelity prototypes, user flows, usability testing plans, stakeholder presentations, and responsive specifications
- Conduct desk research and remote user research independently to inform design decisions
- Support marketplace-specific regulations (EU initially, with global expansion)
- Design mobile-first responsive patterns across all modules

Basic Qualifications

- 4+ years of design experience
- Portfolio demonstrating e-commerce or product configuration/customisation design work
- Experience working within established design systems and contributing to component libraries
- Ability to translate technical concepts and data relationships into user-friendly interfaces
- Experience delivering high-fidelity prototypes, user flows, and design documentation
- Familiarity with responsive and mobile-first design patterns
- Experience translating complex technical relationships into intuitive user experiences

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with product personalisation or compatibility-driven commerce experiences
- Experience with both B2C and B2B platform design
- Exposure to data visualization or dashboard design
- Experience supporting or conducting user research (desk research and remote methods)
- Experience in stakeholder management and confident advocacy for users with immediate leadership
- Experience partnering with UX, Product, Engineering, and Research teams in a large organization
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (A11y) and inclusive design practices
- Experience designing for multi-marketplace or multi-locale platforms
- Portfolio examples of progressive disclosure in technically complex domains

About Amazon

Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one.

Together, Amazonians research and develop new technologies from Amazon Web Services to Alexa on behalf of our customers: shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers around the world.

Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind.

You'll also hear us say that at Amazon, it's always "Day 1." What do we mean? That our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon's very first day - to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and focus on delighting our customers.
