Job Overview:

As a UX Designer with Smoking Gun Interactive (SGI), you will focus on creating intuitive, engaging, and seamless experiences for players.

*Whilst this position is being offered on a remote basis, we are only able to consider applicants who are currently located within the greater Vancouver area

Requirements

In this role, you will:

• Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that communicate the user experience and functionality of our games
• Design and iterate on game mechanics, player flows, and user interfaces
• Conduct user research to understand player’s needs and preferences
• Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedback and data-driven insights
• Work closely with game developers to ensure the user experience is implemented to a high standard
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand business goals and player feedback
• Help establish and maintain design standards for the studio
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and emerging design patterns

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• 3+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer in the game industry;
• A strong portfolio with at least one shipped mobile and PC game title (**portfolio must submit to be considered**);
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and prototyping tools;
• Experience with user research, A/B testing, feedback loops and data analysis;
• Strong knowledge of game development, game design principles and developing interactive interfaces in game engine;
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills;
• Bachelor’s degree in user experience, graphic design or related field.

It would also be great if you had experience with:

• User research, usability testing, and data analysis but must also be effective when these materials are not available
• A generalist game design background
• Working on casual games

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 CAD
