Position: UX Designer Location: Toronto, ON Job ID#: RQ11616 Duration: 7 Months Role Overview We are seeking an experienced UX Designer to create effective, user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces for web and mobile applications. The successful candidate will take a user-centered design approach to deliver intuitive digital experiences through research, prototyping, testing, and iterative design processes. Key Responsibilities Create effective, user-friendly, and visually appealing user interfaces. Design the overall functionality of digital products to ensure an exceptional user experience. Apply user-centered design principles and rapidly test and iterate solutions. Conduct user research, interviews, and surveys. Translate research findings into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. Design interfaces for digital displays, publications, media, and other creative materials as required. Research, conceive, sketch, prototype, and user-test digital product experiences. Identify design challenges and develop elegant, practical solutions. Make strategic design and user experience decisions related to new and existing product features. Gather user feedback and continuously improve existing interfaces. Qualifications & Experience General Skills Relevant experience creating GUI designs based on user interaction and performance. Experience as a UX Designer, Interactive Designer, UI Designer, or similar role designing web and mobile applications. Ability to define and lead UX projects, design workshops, and stakeholder alignment sessions. Experience managing end-to-end user research from recruitment through synthesis. Proficiency with design and prototyping tools. Thorough understanding of web development technologies and their limitations. Experience designing online programs with emphasis on human-centered experiences. Experience creating sitemaps, user flows, user journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. Experience designing and delivering solutions optimized across multiple devices and interfaces. Experience collaborating with stakeholders to shape product vision through research and testing. Experience identifying design problems and developing elegant solutions. Experience making strategic UX and design decisions. Experience gathering and incorporating user feedback. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, and support client relationships. Experience with Figma, Canvas, and similar design tools. Communication Skills Ability to prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation. Strong communication skills for presenting design concepts and development processes. Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, QA professionals, and business stakeholders. Demonstrated experience within highly collaborative team environments. Nice-to-Have Skills Knowledge of accessibility testing. Experience working with the Ontario Design System. Knowledge of Digital Service Standards. Experience addressing complex design challenges involving legacy systems. Experience designing solutions that comply with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements.
