Your Opportunity

Join a Customer Experience team focused on making American Modern the easiest specialty insurance company to do business with. You will work alongside experienced designers and researchers, bring a customer-led perspective to business challenges, and help build experiences with meaningful customer and business value.

What You’ll Do

  • Help socialize policyholder personas through training and engaging design assets.
  • Use the CX Design System to create materials that keep the customer present in decision making.
  • Support agile design sprints, journey development, test-and-learn activities, and implementation.
  • Help interpret research and incorporate insights into experience design.
  • Participate in user research, prototype testing, interviews, and requirements development.
  • Create journey maps, service blueprints, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and visual storytelling assets.

What You’ll Bring

  • Coursework or experience in design thinking and human-centered design, including one or two significant projects.
  • Portfolio demonstrating design experience, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of user-centered design, agile collaboration, and customer insight.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Figma or Adobe Express is a plus.
  • UX portfolio, service prototyping, canvas methods, or insurance knowledge are bonus qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree at an accredited college or university with a focus of design
  • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the summer internship program
  • Able to work in a hybrid environment, including approximately 40-50% of the time in our Amelia, Ohio office
  • Reliable transportation to commute to the office as required
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to meaningful projects
