Job Description

The Student Food Pantry Worker plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellness of our campus community by ensuring equitable access to food and basic needs resources. This position provides direct service to students visiting the Husky Food Pantry, assists with inventory and restocking, and helps connect students to additional support services. The ideal candidate is reliable, compassionate, and committed to fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment.

This position will average 12 hours per week of work on campus, mostly on Mondays and Thursday during fall, winter and spring. The pay for this on-campus position is $21.30 per hour.

Candidates must be available Monday and/or Thursday, 12-5pm (or significant hours within those times).

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students accessing the food pantry with professionalism and care
• Provide basic information about pantry services and refer students to other campus and community resources as needed
• Restock shelves, rotate inventory, and maintain a clean, organized pantry space
• Track pantry usage and assist with data collection for program evaluation
• Support outreach efforts, including tabling events and social media promotion
• Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate cultural humility in all interactions
• Collaborate with pantry staff and volunteers to ensure smooth daily operations
• Attend brief trainings and team meetings as scheduled

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Interest in health equity, food justice, or student wellness
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable engaging with diverse populations
• Minimum Academic Success (must have a 2.5 Cumulative GPA during the time of application and while employed)
• Must be enrolled and maintain enrollment with a minimum of 6 credits (5 for graduate students) per quarter throughout the 2024-2026 academic year
• Be in good standing with your college and not violate any standards of student conduct code.
• Completion of required Title IX and other required training for student staff.
