Holt of California is proud to be part of the elite group of Caterpillar dealers worldwide. We sell, rent and service a wide-variety of equipment Including Large and Small Construction Tractors, Forklifts, and Prime/Stand-by-Power Generation.

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN WEST SACRAMENTO, CA.

Assists Rental department with equipment check-ins and check-outs by performing the following duties:

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Preparation of new and used units for delivery including touch up paint.
  • Review and document all rental and demo return units for condition.
  • Check-in and check-out all rental units and accessories including paperwork and photos.
  • Wash and fuel all units to include steam cleaning.
  • Preventive maintenance with lube, oil, filter changes, as well as belts, hoses, and lights that are defective.
  • Tool and tire repair and replacement.
  • Maintain fleet in the yard checking oil and water and start-up once a week.
  • Responsible for the equipment in the yard in regards to location, and general yard maintenance and tool room.
  • Dispose of batteries, tires used by the sales department.
  • Perform monthly housekeeping inspections due by the 15th of each month.
  • Assist in administrative duties/paperwork.
  • Order parts as needed for rental equipment.
  • Comply with IIPP regulations and Holt safety practices.
  • Keep work area and rental fleet storage area clean and orderly.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education experience.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and to customers.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using weight measurements, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid California driver’s license and a clean DMV report. Must be able to operate a variety of standard shift and automatic vehicles.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, frequently works in outside weather conditions, and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

COMPENSATION

Wage Range 20.91 Hourly

Wage depends on knowledge, skills and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
