University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy is looking for a part-time food service utility worker/dishwasher. The part-time utility worker/dishwasher is responsible for operating the industrial dishwasher, loading/unloading supplies, and assist other employees in the kitchen as needed following all sanitary and health related protocols by maintaining kitchen work areas, equipment or utensils in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition. This is a part-time, hourly, academic-year position working the following five-day schedule (28.5 hours/week): Sunday 10:00am to 7:00pm and Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 1:30pm. The University is located in St. Louis in the middle of the Washington University medical campus near public transportation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operate the industrial dishwasher
Wash glassware, pots, pans and other implements by hand when necessary
Empty and clean all trash receptacles
Clean iced tea, coffee, soda and smoothie machines daily
Clean dish storage
Follow sanitation policies at all times
Provide assistance to other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times
Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately
Other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Be customer-service driven
Ability to read and understand basic instructions, chemical safety information
Ability to lift and move objects of up to 50 pounds in weight
