Title: Utility Worker

Location: Eastcastle Place

Salary $15.00/ hour (note we are a no tip facility)

Position Type: Part time, Non-Exempt

Schedule: Tuesday and Thursdays 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, every other weekend 11:00 am - 7:30 pm

As a Dishwasher, you'll play an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness help ensure our culinary team can provide outstanding service to our residents.

What You Will Do:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of designated kitchen areas and equipment including proper removal and disposal of garbage, boxes, etc.
  • Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, flatware, and small wares to established standards.
  • Put all clean items away in specified area, making sure these areas are organized
  • Set up work area as per established standard operating procedure.
  • Monitor and log temperature and sanitizer concentrations of dish machine and 3 compartment sink as specified.
  • Responsible for sweeping and mopping floors and other assigned cleaning tasks including main kitchen, Bradford Terrence Dining rooms and satellite kitchens.
  • Assist in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests.
  • Maintain safe and sanitary conditions in work areas and satellite kitchens, including the proper removal and disposal of all garbage and waste.
  • Completes all assigned cleaning tasks, which include heavy cleaning, weekly and monthly assignments.
  • Maintain personal cleanliness and practice proper sanitation techniques at all times.
  • Completes all QA and shift closing checklists as desired.
  • Attain proficiency and ability to fill in for steward as needed in the health center to include but not limited to
    • Set tables and maintain work stations in proper order.
    • Correctly and efficiently serve meals to residents, employees or guests in the licensed areas. Take orders, provide service and requested items both graciously and courteously. Answer pertinent questions about menu items.
    • Plate according to residents meal ticket and be familiar with residents’ therapeutic diets and personal food preferences.
    • Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service. Wash and distribute clean dishes.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • At least one year of previous food service experience in a nursing home assisted living and/or elderly rehabilitation community, preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, understands requests.
  • Ability to work independently and in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.
  • Possesses ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff. Must use sound judgement, works well under pressure, and possess strong organizational skills.
