Job Description

Minnkota Power is seeking applicants for a Utility Workerlocated at their headquarters in Grand Forks, ND

Job responsibilities include:

  • Performing a variety of activities on construction and maintenance projects.
  • Assisting in the construction of footings, foundations, and wood and metal structures.
  • Preparing forms for concrete work.
  • Operating power equipment such as tractors, backhoes, pay loaders, trucks and skid steers.
  • Performing welding and fabrication, fencing, and graveling.
  • Assignments to assist other crafts may be made including to support the fleet mechanics. These activities could include but are not limited to conducting DOT inspections, and light truck and vehicle maintenance.
  • Normally works as part of a crew.

Employees in this role may work nights and weekends as necessary and some overnight travel from home base is required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Individual must have experience in construction and be experienced in the operation of power equipment.
  • Must be able to read and understand construction prints and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Class A driver’s license and must meet the physical and mental requirements of the position.
  • Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and required inspections.
  • Experience in automotive and diesel mechanics preferred.
