Bridgewater College is seeking a skilled Utility Technician with a background in carpentry and general maintenance trades to support campus facilities operations. This hands-on role includes carpentry, painting, and general repair work that helps keep our campus safe, functional, and well-maintained.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Perform carpentry repairs, installations, and general maintenance across campus
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to complete projects accurately
- Repair and install doors, windows, hardware, flooring, ceiling tile, and fixtures
- Complete surface preparation and finishing work (painting, staining, sealing, patching)
- Perform minor drywall, plaster, wood, and masonry repairs
- Estimate materials and maintain tools and supply inventory
- Ensure quality work using measuring, leveling, and layout tools
- Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Assist with material handling, deliveries, and contractor coordination
- Assist with snow removal and emergency response as needed
- Support campus and event setup and breakdown
- Work safely using ladders, lifts, and other equipment, following all safety procedures

WHAT YOU BRING:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in carpentry, maintenance, or related skilled trades
- Working knowledge of construction materials, tools, and finishing techniques
- Ability to operate motorized equipment safely and effectively
- Valid Virginia driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
