The Role

As a Utility Operator, you will be crucial in operating and maintaining the site’s wastewater and utility systems, including steam boilers, air compressors, cooling towers, reverse-osmosis water systems, and process wastewater treatment operations. This role also supports the execution of site safety, environmental, quality, and reliability programs. You will be expected to work either a day or night shift.

Key Responsibilities

As a Utility Operator, you will:

  • Control and operate site utility systems, including start-up, shutdown, and recovery.
  • Control and operate site wastewater systems, including start-up, shutdown, and recovery.
  • Perform operator maintenance and troubleshooting on Utility and Wastewater equipment.
  • Maintain water treatment systems, including sampling, testing, and adding chemicals.
  • Advance the safety practices of the team and contribute to operating with zero injuries and zero environmental excursions.
  • Support maintenance execution by performing lockout-tagout, pre-job safety analysis, and permit issuing.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of industrial experience, including experience with pumps and valves.
  • Positive attitude and safety-focused mindset.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with safety practices and techniques relating to the chemical industry or equivalent.
  • Experience in utility system operations and manufacturing maintenance, preferably in the chemical industry.
  • Level D Physical-Chemical Wastewater License.
