Job Description

Accountabilities:
  • Performs all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to site specific safety requirements, company policy, state and federal regulations.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities as assigned which would include but are not limited to: shoveling, rockdusting, timbering, brattice work, stoppings, ventilation, belt moves, power moves, pumping and roadway maintenance.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as required to maintain the outby areas in efficient operating condition.
  • Fill in on section as needed and as qualifications allow.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:
  • General knowledge of mining support activities (rockdusting, timbering, brattice work, ventilation, pumps, etc.).
  • Knowledge of safe job procedures for general inside labor.
  • Skill with hand tools.
  • Know the Safe Job Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, company safety policies, and applicable rules and regulations.

Certifications/Licenses
  • Underground coal miner's certificate
  • Annual 8 hour retraining and/or appropriate training
  • Task training
  • Other qualifications as required by contract, regulations and/or management
