Job Description

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking Utilities Manager (PE Engineer) to support a government contract based on the island of Diego Garcia.

PURPOSE / SCOPE

The Utilities Manager is responsible to oversee the business and operations of all utility systems and ensure all utility systems are operated and maintained in accordance with contract requirements while ensuring successful performance and compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS), Program, USG, and international requirements and guidelines. Ensures compliance with standard management practices including but not limited to monitoring, records keeping, report preparation, training, inspections, data reporting, etc. Will perform other duties as assigned.

The Utilities Manager will be available within one hour 24 hours/day, 7 days/week in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a registered professional engineer (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental) licensed by a U.S. State or Territory with a minimum of five years’ experience in managing utility systems of similar size and complexity; or has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a U.S. accredited college, university, or institution or an equivalent Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)-accredited college or university program with 10 years’ minimum experience in managing utility systems of similar size and complexity.
  • Three years’ experience in a supervisory role in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce
  • Must be familiar with current global, and US requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and driver's license throughout employment in this role
  • Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization
  • Ability to successfully pass the medical contract requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • Ability to obtain country-specific visas as required by the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies
  • Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds
  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • May work in a typical office environment
  • This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in offices, industrial warehouses, ports, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
