We are looking for a reliable and skilled Plant Utility Technician to join our team. This role is a vital part of our plant operations, responsible for bridging key functions across Quality Control, shipping, and inventory management. If you are a detail-oriented professional with experience in an industrial or related field, this is a great opportunity to put your hands-on skills to work in a productive, team-focused environment.
Principal Responsibilities
Quality Control & Framing
• Quality Standards: Learn and apply industry standards for defect identification and pole classification.
• Precision Work: Read and interpret framing prints, select the right equipment, and perform accurate cuts and processing.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on hand tools and ensure all framing equipment is operated safely and effectively.
• Documentation: Ensure all poles are correctly identified, tagged, and documented to meet customer specifications.

Weigh Scales & Shipping
• Scale Operation: Operate weigh scales, including the use of scale software and the preparation of shipping and export documentation.
• Coordination: Communicate effectively with truck drivers regarding yard safety rules and notify the production supervisor when orders are ready to ship.
• Inventory Support: Assist in quality inspections and support general shipping/receiving processes to ensure accurate inventory control.
Safety & General Tasks
• Safety First: Actively participate in and contribute to our company safety program at all times.
• Operations: Perform banding and strapping for rail cars and poles according to specifications (AAR).
• Versatility: Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient flow of the plant.
Requirements
• General experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or related field is preferred.
• Ability to read prints or technical diagrams and safely operate basic tools (e.g., chainsaws).
• Comfortable with or willing to learn weigh scale software and shipping documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific customer/industry standards.
• A solid commitment to workplace safety and team productivity.
