About the role

We’re looking for a Field Utilities Operator – Truck to join our field operations team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting Coal Seam Gas operations while a team member is on extended leave.

In this role, you’ll operate a field service truck and support the safe and efficient operation of the gas and water gathering network.

In this role, you will:

• Operate a field service water tanker truck to remove water from the gas gathering system and re-inject it into the water gathering network
• Monitor field equipment and intervene when required to keep plant operating safely and within approved limits
• Complete basic maintenance and servicing of the truck and associated field equipment
• Work within planning, scheduling, and tracking systems to keep operational data and activity records up to date
• Collaborate closely with other field operators, engineers, and team members to diagnose issues and support continuous improvement

This role operates on a 1 week on / 1 week off roster (approximately 6:00am – 5:30pm).

You’ll be camp-based while on shift, with accommodation provided.

This role may also be suited to someone living locally in or around Roma.

About you

You enjoy hands-on, physical work and are comfortable working in the field, often independently, while staying connected to a small, supportive team. You take safety seriously, communicate clearly, and are confident using systems to record and track work.

You don’t need a trade qualification—but you do bring mechanical aptitude, good judgement, and a practical approach to maintaining equipment and keeping operations running smoothly.

You’ll bring:

• A current HR driver’s licence and experience operating utility vehicles
• Experience in field operations, utilities, or similar hands-on roles
• Mechanical aptitude and confidence performing basic maintenance and equipment checks
• Good computer literacy, including entering data and tracking volumes and activities
• A strong safety mindset, teamwork skills, and willingness to work a camp-based roster

Experience in Coal Seam Gas or similar industries is beneficial but not essential.
