Job Details

Job Location SEATTLE, WA 98109

Lead complex UX initiatives that translate customer insights, business goals, and technical constraints into elegant digital experiences.

RUN Studios, and its client partner, a large online retailer headquartered in Seattle, are seeking a User Experience Designer to join for an approximate 7-month project!

This position requires 5 days onsite in downtown Seattle.

We are seeking a Senior UX Designer to lead customer experience initiatives across a high-traffic e-commerce platform. This role partners closely with product managers, designers, researchers, and engineering teams to deliver intuitive, user-centered experiences across web and mobile. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of customer behavior, retail UX best practices, and design systems, and is comfortable leading complex projects, navigating ambiguity, and driving design decisions from concept through implementation.

As a UX Designer, You Will

  • Create elegant and intuitive user experiences by balancing user insights, business requirements, and technical constraints.
  • Lead planning and strategic phases of large initiatives, including migration projects.
  • Rapidly and iteratively produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups with detailed visual design specifications for web and mobile.
  • Independently deliver UX solutions for problems of large scope and complexity while navigating ambiguity and multiple stakeholder needs.
  • Advocate for user-centered design by partnering with researchers to test solutions and by conducting lightweight, scrappy user testing when needed.
  • Present design work clearly and confidently to UX, product, engineering teams, and senior stakeholders.

As an Applicant, You Bring

  • 6+ years of UX or UI design experience with a strong focus on end-to-end, user-centered design across desktop and mobile.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and extensive experience with rapid prototyping.
  • Demonstrated retail or e-commerce UX experience.
  • Strong customer research skills, including forming design hypotheses, reasoning through edge cases, and validating ideas through usability testing or research tools.
  • Experience with Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Axure preferred.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Shopify and experience with conversion or abandonment metrics is a plus.
  • Portfolio demonstrating thoughtful UX solutions and strong visual design skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills with the ability to drive design reviews and close on requirements independently.
