Halogen Engineering is seeking a User Experience Designer who will be r
esponsible for leading the plan, design and development activities to create the user experience for devices, tools and systems. Responsible for establishing interactive conventions, assisting in gathering user requirements, mocking-up user experiences, participating in trade-off discussions with development teams and subject matter experts, analyzing tool sets, creating screen mock-ups and helping customers to imagine new kinds of interactive techniques and technologies. Applies visualization and screen design expertise to create a successful user experience.

Salary Range

The projected compensation range for this position is 126K-151K (annualized USD).

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

  Hands-on experience conducting usability testing, interviews, and/pr contextual inquiry directly with end users.
• 
  Comfortable assisting research sessions alongside a UX lead. Experience independently running research studies end-to-end (objective-setting, study design, execution, and synthesis) is a plus.
• 
  Working knowledge of both qualitative discovery methods (usability testing, contextual inquiry) and quantitative data collection methods (surveys, analytics review, A/B testing, card sorting, tree testing, session observation). Demonstrated experience is a plus.
• 
  Strong note-taking and data organization skills where they are able to capture and structure raw findings accurately for leadership synthesis and analysis.
• 
  Reliable, detail-oriented execution of research protocols with minimal need for independent research strategy or stakeholder presentation.
• 
  Comfort operating with ambiguous, evolving requirements typical of mission/IC environments that is able to define research questions when none is handed to them is a plus.
• 
  Experience with Information Technology: Three (3) years experience with screen mock-up tools (e.g. Powerpoint, Visio, Axure) and related industry tools used to create visual displays and prototypes
