Job Description
The User Access Analyst is responsible for administering employee access throughout the user lifecycle, including onboarding, role changes, and offboarding. This position provisions, modifies, and disables system permissions in accordance with approved requests, internal procedures, service level commitments, audit requirements, and information security standards. The role partners closely with Human Resources, department Risk Management Ambassadors, Physical Security, Information and Cybersecurity, IT teams, and business partners to ensure employees have appropriate access to the systems, data, and facilities required to perform their job responsibilities. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, clear communication, and a high level of discretion when handling sensitive information.
Location: This position requires onsite work at our downtown Spokane offices Center on Post - 176 S Post St. Spokane, WA 99201
Essential Functions:
- Processes, documents, and completes user access requests accurately and efficiently through the ticketing system.
- Reviews requests for required approvals and escalates requests that do not meet standard requirements to the User Access Team Lead.
- Follows standard operating procedures, service level commitments, and current team documentation to ensure consistent access administration.
- Creates, updates, and disables standard and privileged user accounts across Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and related bank applications.
- Creates, modifies, and removes groups in Active Directory and Entra ID, as well as shared and user mailboxes in Microsoft Exchange.
- Performs onboarding and offboarding tasks in CyberArk and other access management tools.
- Adds, modifies, and removes employee badge access in the bank’s physical access systems, partnering with Physical Security as needed to manage access profiles.
- Ensures timely onboarding, modification, and offboarding of employee access while meeting audit requirements and service level commitments.
- Maintains familiarity with bank applications, systems, access models, and related provisioning requirements.
- Executes interactive automation scripts for assigned tasks and escalates issues or needed updates related to current scripts.
- Identifies and escalates opportunities to improve current processes, workflows, automation, and documentation.
- Updates team and process documentation as needed to maintain accuracy and support consistent execution.
- Follows and applies Operational Risk Management and Information Security standards and best practices.
- Supports User Access team projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Provides technical support and analysis to business partners and assists the IT Service Desk with access-related issues and questions.
- Performs password resets and account unlocks in supported applications.
- Works closely with the Information and Cybersecurity team to support secure and compliant access practices.
- Escalates issues, exceptions, and questions to the User Access Team Lead in a timely manner.
- Maintains regular, reliable attendance.
- Performs compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or management information systems.
- 2-3 years work experience in a related field preferred.
- Fundamental knowledge of PowerShell scripting and experience leveraging interactive scripting.
- Fundamental experience and knowledge in management of mailboxes in Exchange.
- Fundamental experience and knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, group policy, user account provisioning and de-provisioning, and privilege management.
- Accuracy and precision with a high level of attention to detail required.
- Experience and knowledge in troubleshooting complex issues in many technologies.
- Prior IT Service Desk or Helpdesk experience preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fundamental knowledge of least privilege, RBAC, Just in Time and Just Enough Access methodologies.
- Knowledge and experience of identity and access management controls, principals, and methods.
- Knowledge and experience with multi-factor authentication, Privileged Access management, and AAA concepts and practice.
- Fundamental knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
- Ability to analyze and perform process improvement and automation with account provisioning/de-provisioning, single-sign on, and role based security using industry best practices.
- Experience working in complex environments with a high degree of organizational effectiveness.
- Fundamental knowledge of project management.
- Ability to make decisions and collaborate in a team environment.
- Fundamental skills in evaluating risk and communicating it in a fact-based manner.
- Fundamental ability to extract and quickly analyze access log files or other output from system tools.
- Strong customer/client focus, with the ability to manage expectations appropriately, to provide a superior customer/client experience and build long-term relationships.
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment to meeting SLAs.
- Experience with databases, LDAP and directory services, application servers, operating systems, and network infrastructure.
- Capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
Compensation: $24.27 - $36.41 per hour
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, WA. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. This position is eligible to participate in an applicable incentive plan.
