Bob Howard Acura, a premier dealership within the Group 1 Automotive family, is seeking an experienced and driven Used Car Sales Manager to lead our pre-owned vehicle operations. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the used car department, including inventory acquisition, pricing strategy, team performance, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, a results-oriented mindset, and a deep understanding of the pre-owned automotive market to drive profitability and deliver an exceptional customer experience aligned with the Acura brand.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the used vehicle sales team to achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
  • Appraise, purchase, and price used vehicle inventory to maximize profitability and market competitiveness
  • Analyze market trends and auction data to make informed inventory acquisition decisions
  • Oversee merchandising, pricing strategy, and online vehicle presentation to drive leads and showroom traffic
  • Monitor and improve department gross profit, volume, and inventory turn metrics
  • Ensure exceptional customer experience and maintain high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores
  • Train, coach, and mentor sales staff to improve closing ratios and product knowledge
  • Partner with Finance, Fixed Ops, and new vehicle departments to optimize dealership performance
  • Manage desking, deal structure, and ensure compliance with all company policies and regulations
  • Implement and maintain effective follow-up systems to drive repeat and referral business

Qualifications

  • Proven automotive sales management experience (used vehicle experience highly preferred)
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Extensive knowledge of used vehicle valuation, inventory management, and market trends
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Results-driven mindset with a strong focus on profitability and performance metrics
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, commission-driven environment
  • Professional demeanor with a strong work ethic and integrity
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screening
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with a good driving record

Compensation & Benefits:

This position offers a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary plus performance-based incentives. Total annual earnings are expected to range from $90,000 to $150,000+, depending on experience, individual performance, and dealership results. High performers have the opportunity to exceed this range.
