The Division

The Perseus  operating group of Constellation Software Inc. , is a portfolio of vertical market enterprise software companies. Perseus acquires independently managed software companies around the world, providing them with the strategic guidance and financial security they need to

become leaders within their respective markets.

Work Location: Karachi/Lahore

Report to position: USA Payroll Manager, Pakistan

Position Summary

The USA Tax Analyst will be responsible for all aspects of the USA tax registration process at Perseus. This individual will also provide day-to-day tax support to the Payroll Manager and Sales Tax Manager

Job Responsibilities: Activities required to achieve position’s main duties as summarized above

USA PAYROLL TAX:

• Regular & Quarterly Tax filings
• Worked with tax filing centers and government agencies to address inquiries and prevent penalties
• Amendments and notices
• Handle tax submissions for various locations
• Multi State Tax experience
• New State Registrations
• Creates and updates process documentation
• Reviews/audits tax registrations and accounts
• Calculates & accrues/process applicable payroll taxes
• Participates in company tax audits when required

USA SALES TAX:

• Accurate and timely completion of the required transaction tax returns (sales/use, business & occupation, and gross receipts tax) in all jurisdictions using information pulled from GP
• Accurate and timely completion of corporate tax working papers, return to provision reconciliation and provisions
• Provide support to financial accounting team on corporate tax matters
• Support tax planning initiatives
• Responding to letters/requests from the various States/Cities
• Provide AP back-ups and requesting the Onshore Tax Team to process sales tax payments
• Contacting Tax departments to resolve sales tax notices, questions and discrepancies.
• Register for the transaction tax accounts in applicable taxing jurisdictions as required.
• Prepare for, and assist with transaction tax audit
• Conduct special assignments or tasks assigned by the supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Qualifications [Minimum required Education and Experience]

• Minimum of 2-3 years USA Payroll/Sales Tax experience
• Full payroll tax cycle for remarketers, ensuring compliance with all tax laws
• Multi State Tax experience
• Managed monthly and quarterly tax filings, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations
• Payroll Tax Summary (PTS) data into MasterTax, resolving variances
• Oversaw payroll and tax onboarding
• Resolved client issues, filed amendments, and maintained tax code profiles
• Provided first-tier IT support to address technical issues
• Developed customized tax processes to meet client needs
• Experience with ADP tax issues handling
• Multi province/multi company tax processing
• Multi province/multi company EHT/workers compensation registration experience
• Experience with Workday preferred
• Professional, well-organized individual looking to work in a fast-paced environment
• A strong working knowledge of the various provincial employment standards
• Strong communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Microsoft Office
