Role Title

US New Business Summer Student

Purpose of role

Foresters Financial is looking to hire talented post-secondary students. This is a great opportunity for students to learn and gain valuable exposure within financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the processing of new business applications by reviewing submissions for completeness, accuracy, and required documentation, and seeing cases thru completion.

  • Assist with application set‑up and data entry to ensure information is accurately entered into internal systems.

  • Gather, process, and input information required to support Underwriting review and certificate issuance, escalating issues as needed.

  • Track and follow up on missing or incomplete documentation, ensuring timely resolution.

  • Review and process delivery requirements and ensure all case documentation is properly recorded on relevant systems.

  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic records, including archiving case‑related emails and documents and ensuring digital systems are kept up to date.

  • Support the new business workflow by updating case notes and monitoring application status, posting requirements for producers on relevant systems for pending / items requiring follow ups.

  • Adhere to established procedures, quality standards, and turnaround time expectations.

  • Proactively identify potential process improvement opportunities and share suggestions with the team.

Who you are:

  • Completed a minimum of one year of post-secondary education and will be returning to a post-secondary educational institution in fall 2026

  • Available to work full-time from June to August 2026

  • Two days a week in office, the ability to travel to 789 Don Mills, North York

  • Required to come into the office Tuesdays and Thursdays

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Solid foundation of relevant technical skills

  • Flexible and dynamic individual who can adjust and prioritize accordingly to adapt to business demands and requirements.

  • Start date: June 8, 2026

Salary Range:

$18-21/hr

The actual base salary for this position will depend on several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate in a discretionary variable incentive plan, results are subject to both individual and company performance.
